12/28/08

Okay, everyone, I still have a lot of stuff to do, and I am busy. So I am just posting a small thing right here, and it will be memorable as I go on through life. What I am posting is of sentimental value to me - my current iTunes account:

(CLICK ON PICTURE TO FULLY VIEW IT.)

It shows some songs that I prefer, of course, I cannot buy all the songs that I want and put them on my iTunes account due to things such as: iTunes does not have all songs and artists, and that I need more iTunes giftcards.

Why is this sentimental? I received all this on my fourteenth birthday, on 12/21/2008. Something really uncanny but exciting has occurred. My birthday is on 12/21, and as you can see one of my favorite songs is selected and highlighted in blue, and its album cover is on the main screen. BUT as you can see, the title of the song is called Prelude 12/21!! That's the same as my birthday. But not only that, the artists - AFI - decided to name it "December Underground"! December!! So that is pretty cool.

Why is it important? Music calms me down and helps me write. Some of my most inspirational ideas have been found when I was delving deep into music...well, not really, but music does help me write without getting irascible or impatient with the time. So I thank all my readers, once again. I love being 14!

12/24/08

'Tis the night before Christmas when I write in this blog. Listen people, Merry Christmas tomorrow! And for the people who celebrate any holidays: Happy "Insert Holiday", and for those who do not celebrate have a great time.

As you shall now know, I have turned 14 years of age on December 21. Hooray. I am also working on a book, and a compilation of short stories that will be amazing and that I know will get published. So it has been very exciting for me, other science fair and various homework that keep on vexing me. I have gone to through as entirely knew person, and just love the new iPod touch that I received. I would also like to thank my readers for inspiring me, greatly. Truly I do. I am also willing to hand the Life of A Writer blog to a few friends who are truly helping me right now. Changes will be known shortly.

For my fans, I will write a holiday story, although beware to those of you who know my writing style, for it has Human Resources in it. However, after that one, I will write a story with a happy ending!! Eye popping, isn't it. So for now, that is all that I have to say. Thank you.

11/28/08

Dear readers, I meant to post this on the 27th, but here I am writing right now when it is currently 12:24 A.M. No wait, 12:25 A.M. I just realized that the Blog's timer is 2 hrs. and 1 min. behind my correct time for the time zone I live in, but I'm to lazy to do anything about it. Well, Happy Thanksgiving (no offense intended) or Happy Turkey Day everyone. There are some strange things going on.

A poll on the Short Stories and Scripts of Nawal site has ended. According to the results, I am supposed to write a Dark Humor story, and I will give all I have in my power to do so. I thank everyone that participated in the poll.

If you have been listening to the news, you might have heard the terrorist bombings in Mumbai, India. Many lives were taken, and a great number of people were injured or mortally wounded. I still do not know the reason why the terrorists did this, but I can guess that reasons are close to, if not the same, as what I say: power, revenge, religious causes, fun???, no reason, political/economical reasons, racial reasons, et cetra, et cetra, et cetra. It does not matter, for I ask if it is really necessary to take a human's(or s') life? Can't anything be compromised. If anyone is fighting for land, when you die, the land will remain, unlike the person who wasted his/hers life over it. The land was never yours, and never will it belong to anyone. If anyone fights for money, then when they die, the money will remain in this world, obviously. However, why waste your life over it, for doing such a thing could be considered foolish. It can be shown in history that change causes change. So unless there is someone to stop it, conflict shall also cause conflict. I have to ask that why do people start fights anyway? If anyone stops to think about it, then through the smothering and clouding blackets of race, religion, society, and politics, they will see that we are all human. The world could be a better place if it was something like this:

"Are you Christian?" A man would ask a person about their religion.

"Gabosa." You would answer, giving him your surname.

"What?" He would ask puzzled, gaining a chance to become aware and free of the burdens created by our own minds.

"My name is Christian Garbosa." You would answer smiling and offer your hand.

"Oh." You would shake hands, and the other man would walk away in a daze of awareness, maybe seeing the truth or maybe not.

OR MAYBE...

"Are you a Christian/Hindu/Muslim/Jew/German/Oriental or Traditional/Buddhist/ [insert religion, race, belief, cult, group, political party, society level, etc.]?" Someone would ask you with some judgement that is just waiting to pounce on top of your answer.

You would smile, slyly, holding back a full blown grin, "No. I am a human. What are you?"

"I am a...human." They would have to reply back.

This is the one I like, for it brings out the best reaction and you might have set someone on to the path of self realization. It's these little things that can make the world a better place to live in.

On the topic of my writing, I am very happy to announce that I might post a chapter of my book online on my site. Thank you, good bye, and see you all next time.

11/22/08

Hello, everyone. I know that it has been a month since I last posted on this blog. I know, I know. No excuses, no matter how many. So this time, I take the blame on myself. I need to make time.

Many things have happened, since last, besides the increase of projects and homework. I have discovered that my writing is really liked. No joke! Just to say, I have to tell my readers that it is you and myself, who inspires me and keeps me writing. The "Nawal Land: the Forbidden Fruit" book is getting complicated (in the good way) and the humor is coming to me naturally, so every time I write, a smile lights up face, which makes writing the book fun and not platitudinous.

For all the Twilight fans, I have some news. Twilight scored #1 in the box office, Bond 22 or Quantum of Solace was #2, and Bolt came on #3. Fan girls were buying about five tickets a second on the release day. For the girls who are crazy about Twilight, the sequel, New Moon is already being worked on. However, the movie is not for recommended for boys, unless you love romance, are movie critique at heart, or just want to watch it because you have nothing to do. I would recommend Quantum of Solace for the action and adventure lovers.

Thanksgiving is only four days away, so every start looking for turkeys, cornbread, etc. This Thanksgiving might not be a big one, what with all the world issues going on in peoples minds, and money is a little loose nowadays. So this time, try to remember all the good times you have had in your life, and with your family, unless you are a bachelor, in which case think about yourself and only yourself, the good way.

This year is going a bit fast for me. I don't want to let of any of my friends and go to high school. I just do not want that at all. But time seems to be going faster because daylight savings time is still here, for some reason. - dentists - Don't ask why. Next year I am going to be a freshman and I'm going to have to start over, and make new friends, who won't be from WAVE, not that I have anything against RAZ kids. I have just been with my friends for too long and I don't want to part.

Well, that's I have to say for now. It's 11:46 and I'm out.

10/25/08

Hello, everyone! I am only going to say a little today.

Every class has been loaded with tons of homework, due to the interruption Hurricane Ike caused in the school curriculum. The load of homework might ease out some time towards February, but that's when TAKS will have started. Yeah, I have so much to look forward to.

When I decide to give up romance, everyone seems to start dating. You can unexpected couples anywhere you go, just like an epidemic. Why does life have it in for me? 8th grade is starting to suck.

Tomorrow is my dad's birthday, so we can celebrate. It is going to be fun.

I have been working on chapter 1 for Nawal Land: The Forbidden Fruit, and its going pretty good.

For my readers: I headed to having 1000 page hits on my story site! That will one of the biggest days of my life. :D

That's all I have to say.

10/19/08

Hello, everyone. I know that I have not posted for a long time, and I have to say that I apologize to my readers for that. However, my readers must realize that I also have to finish my homework, and it that course, I do not always get time to write on this blog of mine.

As I have to say, many things have happened during the period of time I did not write.

- Middle School Romance: There have been many unexpected relationships in the past few weeks. This is has gotten so outrageous that if you had seen the same two people before they had been dating, you would have bet that the apocalypse would have happened twice before those two people had started to go out together. Well, what do you know? The apocalypse seems to have be on coffee break.

Some couples that I see, are dating just for the sake of dating. Some of them avoid contact with each other, talk very little, and try to like each other, but it just seems awkward.

I have asked myself about the point of middle school dating. There seems to be no point in dating until you can drive a car.

- Growth: I could sworn to feel myself growing taller, which is strange. The 8th graders are now gigantic. A friend of mine, Ben Chang, is 6+ feet tall. He just turned thirteen, so congrats for Ben, for making most of us look vertically challenged. I think that I am now 5 ft. 5 in. + tall.

--Poker: Texas Hold 'Em has become one of the most popular game in our school. We play the card game almost all the time. When we are not school, we play poker online with all our friends.

--Accidents: I had an accident. I fell of my bike. So my nose is a bit scratched, but otherwise I'm unharmed.

--Region Band: This is one of the most important of all. This year was my first time at region band. I think I did pretty good, and I hope I got a good chair. After region, I went to friends house to play basketball, football, poker, watch TV, eat, talk, and have fun! It was just something we did to relax and take our stress away.

--Number of Site Visitors: The story called Nawal Land: The Forbidden Fruit has increased the visitors of our site, in about a week, to 50+. Some people have even demanded a copy of the Preface that I wrote. I am currently working on the 1st chapter. So wait just a little while people!

--Time: The first 9 weeks is about to end, and we are going to get grades. I hope that I did good in everything. By the way, TOO MUCH HOMEWORK!!!!

--This post: This is all folks.

10/05/08

Hello, everyone, who reads my blog. I am sorry for what I said last time, about the Blogger text editor not working right. Apparently I was on the Edit Html tab, instead of the one that says Compose. I have been promising myself that I would write, but I have never had the time.

The City of Galveston has been completely destroyed due to Hurricane Ike, and yet the US does not seem to be paying enough attention to Galveston's people's plight. On the other hand, more attention seems to be going into issues such as the 2008 election or the plight of the people of New Orleans. Our house, however, seems to be in tiptop shape, not counting a few fences, some shingles, and a tree; but otherwise we are completely fine. After a few weeks, when Ike had passed leaving behind an atmosphere of despair and discord. On Monday, September 29, CCISD students were told that they could continue on with their schooling, and so we did. For the first few days, everything seemed like a dream: no homework, barely any school work, and just a ton of fun to deal with...I could live with that; yet, only a few days had passed and already the teachers gave us a surge of homework. We had about 8 tests, 5 projects, and even more school work to deal with, not to mention that Science Fair was just around the corner.

Another topic that seems to be a major part of my life is the talk about high school. This will be one of the biggest decisions of my life, and if I choose wrong, everything would be screwed up for 4-6 years. My parents and a few other people are saying that I should go to early college high school, which is being offered in San Jacinto College. To the adults who encourage in choosing this option, it is one the best things that seemed to have happened to them. They say choose the choice with the most benefits, which are:

-A chance to test your potential.

-Chance to go to medical school two years earlier (I want to be a Neurosurgeon).

-A chance to get an easy Associates degree.

-A chance to save lots of money, or having the chance to abolish/reduce a student that might have to be taken.

-To be in an environment with kids that are very smart.

-A chance to be recognized.

The list looks good, but no one seems to be able to tell me any non-benefits of the "perfect" plan.

Here are a few downfalls:

-I have been the WAVE program for all my junior high years(6th to 8th grade). The assignments that I am given in class are usually either around 1-3 grades higher than standard, or take three times the time a regular worksheet would take. I am not saying that I hate this or anything, but it would be kind of nice to take a break for a year, since 8th grade WAVE is supposed to be harder than the standard 9th grade curriculum, and maybe even surpasses the 10th grade one. If I take the ECHS program that is being offered by San Jacinto college, I will make my education 5 times harder.

-High school is a very special time, that should not be skipped. It is a time to socialize, get better, and mature. It is a time when people actually tie the knot, or start to look at each other more carefully. It is a time, when a person transmogrifies from a young, immature teenager who is ruled by his/her hormones to a older, mature, teenager who is ruled by his/her hormones. It's when people learn to drive, get a date, go to dinner, become adults, etc. There are many experiences that only high school can provide, and they should not be willingly given up.

-Usually, a person does not have a choice to what junior high school he/she goes to and whom he goes with. I am example, for I came from McWhirter Elementary with only one person who I knew was in the WAVE program-Rebecca Herpin. However, we grew apart and we have both made new friends, and this time, I seem to have a choice, so I do not want to break any more bonds that I have developed.

---

Today, I went to Clear Springs High School, which is huge, and listened to Mark Woods concert. While, entering into the stadium, I noticed Megan was there, too. As my family picked where we would sit, I chatted with her for awhile, then went to sit down next to my little brother. I listened to concert, which was mostly exciting, and at the end, I got my undershirt--T-Shirt autographed by Mark Woods himself. It is now tacked to my bedroom wall. After the concert was over we went to Subway, and then came home. After that I studied a bit, played Texas Hold 'Em on Facebook, talked with Megan, and ate dinner. After that I planned on going to sleep, and that is pretty much it...

I feel that these reasons are enough to show that I am not ready to give up high school. So as you can see, my life has been a little complicated, and I have not been able to write or post. Hope you all have a great life!

9/18/08

Hello, everyone. I think something is wrong with Blogger's text editor, because the font size tools, the paragraph alignment tool, and some others are missing. I do not know why, so let us move on.

Today's entry of my life is quite short, because I actually spent about 94% of it sleeping. Calculate that: I spent 22 hours and 56 minutes of today sleeping. I have never done that before. My parents think it is something called Jet Lag, but that only comes when you go to a different country.

The rest of time, I spent playing poker, and I think I ate lunch and dinner, but that's all. I also went outside to see if I could help by picking up the damage -which was not much- hurricane Ike had done to our neighborhood. The man, a really good person, told us we, my brother and I, could help tomorrow. I would be the one doing the work, and my brother would be moral support with yellow and green pom-poms. (Just kidding.)

That's all for today. If I do not sleep through tomorrow, then I'll talk a little more, but for right now: Good night.

9/17/08

Hello, everyone! I am going to ask you to join for a moment of respect for all the volunteers, officers, and workers who had to help clean and make our homes as habitable as possible. Thank you. As you all know, -well, most of you do- Hurricane Ike hit Texas and forced many people to evacuate right after Gustav -I think that was the hurricane's name- made lots of people from Louisiana to flee inland. This was not a joyful time.

Today is September 17th, the day we came back home after evacuating to a hotel somewhere in Waller County. Although, ironic as it seems, many people were not able to celebrate their birthdays properly due to the hurricane on September. It must have been hard for people to sing "Happy Birthday" when they did not know if their house was still standing or not.

When I got back home, the first thing I did was open the fridge to check for expired products. I was greeted by a smell that resembled the basic components of raw sewage, even though it wasn't. And so we threw away everything in the fridge, including the ice, water, frozen products, etc. The second thing I did was run into my room and plop down on my bed. It was such a relief to be back home.

I have a few people to thank before I move on. I thank Meagen Beeson, who kept me company through texting. I also thank Ruvinda Gunawerdhena, who inspired me to work out. Muscles came in handy. XD I also thank Shree Deshpande who told me that ankle weights would ruin my ankles. Thanks Shree.

And now to tell:

Several days ago, at night I was watching the news and spotted the reporter telling people to evacuate. I asked my family to evacuate, then and there, but they would not oblige. So, the next when we heard another warning, we packed our bags with bear necessities and left. Our original goal was Austin, Texas, but my little brother and I wanted to go to San Antonio for Sea World. Yet, our goal was not completed, and my parents and I met each other half way (literally), and stopped at some hotel in Waller County. We found out that the gas station nearby was okay, and their were a few restaurants beside our place of visit, and this is where we got our gas, food, and drinks. All this was fine until the restaurants closed and only the gas station was open, but the gas had run out. So we began to worry, for the rest of the hotels were full. However we survived long enough and tried to celebrate my mother's (38th)and brother's birthday (8th). This was all we could do, celebrate, for the food had run out. We kept calling Tara Energy to see if the electricity and water was back on, and when we learned that it was, we waited one more day and then we packed up to leave. After we packed up, we arrived home to find that one tree, two gates, a few shingles, and some other things had been broken. Our wind chime had flown away, and their seemed to be a strange draft in our home. I could not place my finger on it, but something was missing from our home. No nothing had been stolen or lost, it was just the nice feeling of "I am home" that was missing. I could not believe how much I missed everything, yet it felt like was visiting this place. However, I told myself to get over it, and I did, knowing that all that stuff was in my head.

Now we are going to be prepared for whatever comes our way.

9/8/08

In current news, a plethora of topics are out and about, some topics such as politics, history, and science have become the new "buzz" in adults and teenagers (as in 13 year olds and older).

The topics below are not listed in order from most interesting, most talked about, or anything. These are just topics that people seem to be talking a lot about.

Topic #1: 2008 Presidential Election -- Obama VS McCaine.

This is a hot topic, for while some go for Obama, others go for McCaine. People should realize that they are not usually using their heads when they decide which man takes control of the country they live in. Most people's decisions to be Republicans or Democrats are overshadowed by the party their parents are in. Another common mistake many people make is that they judge the candidates or the presidents by what occurs in their personal lives. It does not matter what they do on their day off, it matters how good of a president they are. This would be the mistake we made with President Bill Clinton. He was having an affair with another women, and we judged him for that, thus not voting for him, which was a dire mistake. People also discuss if what the candidates are telling us they will do, is true or not, for we cannot be sure that they are not lying. It is also being discussed that which president will remain in office the longest, but that is used for humor, albeit bad humor. These are topics that flutter in the background of today's young adults.

Topic #2: The Large Hadron Collider -- The End of the World on September 10?

Many weapons have been created that contain qualities both awe inducing, and terrible. Todays  arsenal include weapons from AK-47's to Flamethrowers to Tanks to Atom Bombs. However, none of these are really causing the controversy that the Large Hadron Collider is creating. Swiss scientists have created a particle accelerator on massive scale. It is a machine that sends out protons, and makes them collide, thus creating the after effects of the Big Bang. Side effects could include: Scientific Advancement, Revelation of Knowledge...and a black hole that might suck the solar system in about 6 seconds.

Topic 3: Economy -- Oil prices and the Stock Market.

As results have shown, oil prices seem to be coming back up at a steady rate, albeit slow. This gives a sign that our economy might be able to come back hope, but do we dare to hope for such a result? Oil prices are going up, but others aren't. The current stock market is as unsteady as ever, and USA's house prices are stockpiling quite quickly, which are causing houses to go into forclosure (causing us to lose more money) and the owner of the house is now homeless, since he could not afford the house, anymore. We are still spending tons of money in the War in Iraq, and troops are dying, while their families wait for them to come back. So this is a topic of interest between the teens of today.

The other topics are existing but are not so important as the ones listed above. Other topics might include new designer clothes, first time dating advice, and a bad case of homwork, or school rash.

This is entry for my blog today; it was written to create awareness that life does exist out of your clothes rack.

Thank you.

8/22/08

Hello, everyone. Summer has almost come to an end, and school is about to start. August 25th is practically waiting around the corner, getting ready to pounce. And before anyone can realize, they're six feet under...neath a mountain of homework. -sigh- However, the good side is meeting all my friends, and finally being able to have some fun.

I am going to Eighth grade this year, so this means I get to experience an year that is harder than my freshman year. That's the WAVE program for you. D: Yes, bleak is a good word right now.

Today, my family and I went to pick up my school supplies. You know, the usual: Planner, tissues, napkins, Calculator, pencils, pens, highlighters, etc. However, when we got to the school, and got a few things, we realized that the school did not sell the Standardized Dress Code clothes. So after quickly picking up everything, we rushed over to Wal-Mart, and got almost every colored shirt, that went with the S.D.C. I also bought chips and chocolate. I needed to have a little joy.

All the while, Jamie has been filling me up with so really good songs. I have thanked her greatly for that, since listening to good music, while writing helps me relax for a while, and it also helps me to come up with some really good ideas. So thanks again, Jamie!

Through experience the hardest part about writing a novel is actually finishing the dam-thing. However, once I set my brain to anything, I can accomplish anything I desire. So I have decided to actually write a book, which will later be called: Tales of the Wandering Bard by Nawal Aditya. For those of you, who have waited for my next piece of writing, you thirst will soon be sated, for I am going to have a writing extravaganza. This is due to the fact that summer will soon be over, so I do not need to worry about my summer homework anymore. WOOT! Now I can maximize my writing time, and show them to you so you can read! Win-Win.

Well, that's all that I can say for now, besides have fun, live a great life, and READ!!!

8/18/08

Okay, people, I am sorry I took another really long break. It happens, while you are busy writing stories. I would really like to just lie down and relax, but by stupid summer homework is always getting in the way of that. I am also taking care of my extensively long pieces of work, which I have not gotten to publish. While talking about my writing, I have to say that I came up with an amazing idea for a children's book. I think I am going to call it the Wandering Bard, but I am still deciding on that matter.

Now to talk about what has kept me from writing, besides the laziness and procrastination, of course. Tennis has kept me busy, since I want to get in the Eighth grade tennis team, really badly, so I actually got private lessons this year, and I am improving very, very quickly. With tennis, also comes working out, so I have been lifting weights, doing push-ups, sit-ups, crunches, squats, jump rope, and controlling my diet. I also have Tae Kwon Do to worry about, what not, with the forms, self defense, and sparring. I was also going swimming, but needed to concentrate on the homework that I had been given to work on over the summer.

I have to practice my musical arts, too. I have been playing Clarinet for about two years now, and I made the First Chair of the Intermediate II Band at the end of Seventh grade. However, I really want to make Advanced Band this year, so I am practicing that. I'm joining my school's orchestra next year, but since it is my first time ever playing the Violin, I have to go to the Beginner Orchestra. To help me with my musical talents, I was taking private lessons over the summer, but my Clarinet teacher can't work anymore, right now, while my Violin teacher is still training me.

Not only do I have fun things to do, I also have to study Geometry, Algebra II, and prepare intensely for the SAT; which means that I have to manage my time pretty well, if I am going to get anything done.

I am learning how to cook, too. Now that I am 13 3/4 years old (or something like that. I turn 14 in December 21.) my mother is teaching me how to cook some hard things. Some of which include spaghetti (from scratch), tacos (from scratch, except for the taco shell), ramen (microwavable. :D), and many other things. However, I really enjoy cooking Italian and Mexican food the most, since they are so colorful, and very tasty. :D

I spend lots of time writing, too. So I can strengthen my skills, and become the best writer there was.

I also spend some time meditating, listening to music, reading, riding my bike, running, and just relaxing. No matter how busy, I am, I have to make some time for myself.

This is the life of a Writer...

Monday, July 21, 2008

Okay, people, I am back. School is over, and as usual I cannot wait for summer to end so I can see my friends again. Unfortunately, I have had to lay low, what with homework, tennis, swimming, clarinet, violin, writing, having a life, and many other things. But now I can ignore those things for a while and work on writing.
Believe it or not, I have been working out a lot. Well, as much as my body allows without breaking down, which I have discovered is quite a lot.
Things have happened since I have not written: I got a medal for State Recognition by Duke TIP Talent Search for taking the SAT and ACT, I have gotten much, much better at tennis, I have now found that football is a sport that I can tolerate, and I am a really good bicyclist.
I also have wireless internet! This is a really big deal for me, so don't scoff. I can actually see myself, and know what I am doing. This has a spiritual meaning. I am also working on the Dark Poetry Novel, and on a book about Nawal Land, so see you all next time!

Then starting at 5:15 P.M. I get to go the Band Lock-In, where we have every type of game system, lots of games: DDR, Wii Sports, other Wii Games, Racing games, etc.; pizza, drinks, and the best part is that we get to party till midnight!! Then there is the weekend, and after that Memorial Day, then we get to go to the Oil Ranch in Hockley, Texas!! Amazing!
I have been writing at Storywrite.com

I entered a contest called: Join the Pack and here is what it said. I won baby! I WON!!

"Humane Sacrifice, was extreamly well written. It was great to say it simply. Then Three wolves on the move was very nice as well, good sense of emotion and intense time and effort was put into it. Beast inside was fairly well there was something missing I can't point out. But I thought it was really good still. And last but not least Nicholas Fang: Mooning::Chapter 1: Isolation, which probably deserves mroe credit then I gave it, although I can't have two bronzes now can I? Sorry if I disappointed some of you, you were all super though!", O-Kun

I also have complete copyright to my work. }:)
Can't wait to get in book form.
Well, that's all I can think about saying for now! BYE!

5/17/08

Today is the 17th. I know that I have not written anything since May 5, but I have to say that, between homework, eating, tennis, and band; I never got the time to blog.
Many things have happened since the last time I wrote on my blog. I mean I went to Splash Town, due to the band field trip, and I also have been working on my books: the Werewolf story and the Dark Poetry Novel. I also have been working out. I realized I can finally do pull ups. To those of you who scoff, I don't care, for I am proud, since I could never do pull ups before. Well, bygones are bygones, and so we move on...I mean back.
Okay, let's start with school. Mrs. Rockey's rampage receded. I know that it was our fault. I mean, she let us off without homework so we could be kids, and we began to neglect her Language Arts class. That got her mad, and I can understand why. It must have been a slap in the face, when we did not give a *beep* about her class. I mean how would you feel if you did something for a friend, and they took you for granted and treated you like trash. So we apologized for our behavior and promised not to do it again. I was like, "Thank God, it's over!", and that was the end of that.
I have been doing pretty good with my life. I have gotten much better at basketball, and now I get to be team captain in P.E. or I am chosen much more quickly when the other Team Captains are choosing the players. But most of the time, we play street ball instead of basketball. There been three incidents when my nose has almost been broken. However, no pain, no gain; and I have gained more skill than I think I ever had in the past few years.
My minicourse, which is Galveston Bay, is taught by Mrs. Garcia. It is also one of the most enjoyable course you can take. We go bird watching, catch grasshoppers, learn about the environment, and we are going to go on a field trip to Galveston Bay! Hooray!!!
Now we move on to Splash Town. IT WAS AMAZING!! I mean, I have never gone their before. Mitchell, Bhaanu, Dillon, Rohan, and I were talking throughout the whole time the bus was carrying us. Yet, we had to split up when got there, since we thought it would be more fun that way. So, Bhaanu, Dillon, and Mitchell went one way; and Rohan and I went another. The rides were completely amazing. The Twister, the Toilet Bowl, the Texas Free Fall, and many others that were just as great, but which I could not remember the names of. The Texas Free Fall was the most thrilling ride I could ever have the pleasure of riding in. The first three seconds , when you fall from 100 feet and you feel nothing underneath you feet, are the scariest moments of your life, but when you go so fast in two more seconds the ride is over. The worst part is just waiting in line, and feeling the platform shake. It is when you are trapped in your own mind. When you are your own enemy, there is no escape at all. Then there was the tidal wave pool. Another that was just as creepy when the waves were coming up. Rohan, some other kid, and I almost drowned in there. I was choking on the water, so I climbed up a ladder, yet stayed in the pool. Some other kid was drowning, and he needed to use the ladder, which I was blocking. Since he could not reach it, he grabbed Rohan who started drowning too. Then the life pushed me away, and I started drowning, but then he saved all of us, and told me not to block the ladder again. Well...that's all I can say about that.
I also decided to join Orchestra next year. So, my electives will be Orchestra and Band when I am in Eighth Grade.
That is pretty much it. See you again, next time!!

5/5/08

There isn't much to do today. I have a Social Studies test tomorrow, and I have to work on my Algebra homework. I am working on the Werewolf story (almost finished with Chapter 2), and I am working on my dark poetry novel. Good luck to my editors.

5/4/08

Today was pretty exciting, considering other days. I got up at 10:00, brushed my teeth, went to the john, and took a bath. After that we left for the temple, but before we did that, I chatted with Rohan Limaye. He reminded me that today was May 4: the day when the Houston Yacht Club party took place. I panicked, since I was worried that we would miss it, but was a little reassured when Rohan Limaye told me he would be arriving at 2:50. The party took place from 2:00 to 5:00, so we had to budget our time. After going to the temple, praying, and getting some Idlis and Dosa (Indian food), we left as quickly as we could and arrived back home. I got into my swimming shorts, and hopped into the car.
We arrived at the Houston Yacht Club at 3:07. I ran out of the car, took my shirt off, and dove into the 8ft pool. Chills were sent down back, and I felt as if I had just dove into a bucket of ice. Waves crashed down my body sending it deeper into the pool, but I pushed against the force and rose up to the surface as fast as a bullet. After watching a people jump off the pool's diving board, I decided I would join them. I dragged myself out of the pool, went to wait in the line, and when I was ready to go, I hopped onto the board and cannonballed into the ice cold water. As the water stung my back and chlorine did the same to my nostrils, my rear end bumped against the bottom of the pool. I looked up and saw and amazing sight. I could see the sky reflected off of the liquid. I released my legs from my chest and used them to push off of the bottom of the pool, and I shot upwards, once more. I spotted a few faces that I knew, in the pool. I saw Rashmi, Priyanka, and Javier. After I got out of the pool, I saw Mitchell, Bhaanu, Ryan, Emory, Mary, Hunter, Ross, and Matthew Casso and Counts. Mitchell and I went to go kayaking, but the list was full and the big boats were coming so they had to stop people from going. A little downhearted, we went to go fishing, but as Mitchell and I got the bait, tools, and fishing rod out of the van, my spirits immediately rose up. Sadly, this was my first time fishing. We ran to a pier that we had spotted earlier, and we yelled shock when we saw how unstable the thing was. It swayed underneath our feet. After we got the hooks and bait set up, Mitchell taught me how to cast. I got the fishing line tangled on my first try, but that was not unusual, and so I tried once more. After a set of new string, and a few "ouch"es, I could cast pretty well. After about half an hour, Bhaanu and Ryan joined us. We never did catch any fish, but the experience was quite memorable.
After that I left, and now I am writing this, and working on my Social Studies review. Well, I have to go now. See you later.

I am working really hard on the Werewolf story, but don't wait up. TAKS week. :-( But...NO HOMEWORK...at least, not that much. :-) So so you tomorrow, if I get the chance.

4/26/08

I woke up at 11:30, feeling better than I had done yesterday. I brushed my teeth, went to the john, and ate a breakfast that consisted of pancakes, waffles, cereal, and orange juice. I turned on my computer to do my homework, started to exercise, due to the fact that my current goal is to get my old six pack again. While doing my homework, I got on to Google Talk, and began to chat with Jamie. It was pretty funny, and we learned a lot about each other. I had asked her to be an amateur editor for my stories, and she accepted. As the deal went, I was going to dedicate the book to her; it was something I was going to do anyway. after chatting for many hours, Jamie went to the park, and I went to ride my bike. I have been working on the Werewolf story and got to Chapter 2, yesterday. Right now I am putting typing in this very blog, while trying to finish my homework. My muscles actually grew a little. See you tomorrow!! :-)

4/25/08

The day started off pretty bad. I must have fell off the wrong side of the bed this time. I have been pretty sick these days, but today was worse than others. I puked in the sink for ten minutes, after waking up at 7:30. I had to get undressed and dressed pretty quick. Clothes were flying everywhere. But the day got better when I got to minicourse. Today was pretty exciting, well in minicourse anyway. We got to go outside again and I caught another cricket. This time we ventured further into the prairie land. We saw different plants, and even a few new animals. Some know-it-all kids were picking lots of berries, and uprooting many plants. That ticked me off; I mean one of the main things about this class is to help the environment, there they were destroying everything in there path. Jamie was not to happy about it either. We tried to make them stop, but when you tell a know-it-all kid to shut up or stop whatever he is doing, he just does it even more. After our trek outside, when we entered the classroom, once more, we got to look at a few cat tails. Then the know-it-all kids start talking about the history of these plants; Jamie and I exchange glances and start to laugh, while think, "Who cares!"
The rest of the was kind of boring until it got to Social Studies. I received a free day and some bonus points since I had finished my Photo Story Project. I took out my Werewolf story and worked on it a little. When Mrs. Graham asked us what it was, Tim, who was reading my story, told her it was a book I was writing. I told Mrs. Graham about the site I post my stories in and Mrs. Graham said that she had heard about it. I could believe my ears. That meant that people were talking about the site and that it was spreading. I was really happy. Skipping to Algebra, 4th Period. We took a quiz today, and I think I did pretty good on it. Then I saw Joseph, who is Asian, with a sticky note on his back saying, "Made In Mexico", and Branden, who is Mexican, with a sticky note on his back that read, "Made in China". It was hilarious. Elias had one that said, "Manufactured", but I edited that and made it, "Manufactured in the back of a FedEx truck. That got me laughs from everyone in the class.
The rest of the day, like in science, was not good, and P.E. was not worth talking about. So I guess that's all I have to say.
For those of you listening, I am working hard on the Werewolf story, nights too.

4/24/08

Today was a day like any other, unless you counted the progress reports that everyone received in studyhall. I got pretty good grades this time. Yet, as I called upon my Power, I knew I could do much better. From then on, I decided to always work harder. As I sat down on my desk to plan the Werewolf story I am currently writing, I remembered why had I gotten a computer lab pass. I quickly took all my social studies assignments and ran to the lab. I found that I needed to work on my slideshow, which I thought that Mrs. Graham would not grade. So after I finished that problem I continued on with my life. I don't really care about anything else that might have happened at school, and I do not want to talk about the surprise pop quiz that Mrs. Rockey gave us.
So I am still working on the Werewolf story and it is actually coming out pretty good. I have so much homework today and another quiz in algebra for Mrs. Wolfe tomorrow. This is not one of my good days.
I hope your day was better than mine.

This was written later at: 8:57.

God! Man, the Werewolf story is turning out harder to write than I thought it would be. I have only written 5 pages right now. I mean what the heck, man!! I think this going to end around 20 pages, so don't wait up. I might write a few other stories to read. Once again: &@$# this!! Even though writing a story is not easy, when you see people reading it, and compliment you on your writing; that is reward enough. *sigh*

4/23/08

Hello, everyone. I am glad you came to read this blog. I hope you are enjoying reading my stories in Nawal Aditya's Short Stories and Scripts. When it comes to writing about my life, I am too lazy to put a proper title. As you can see...Well, today I woke up, got dressed for school, and went to WIS. As I walked through the doors, I took my clarinet to the Band Hall, and chatted with a few of my friends. As the bell rang, I started to walk towards my Minicourse, which was taught by Mrs. Garcia.
"Nawal!" Josh, suddenly, yelled out mockingly. A few people around laughed, as I kept my head down and did not mind. I finally reached my minicourse and held the door open to let people in. A few people came in and I greeted them, as usual. Rose walked in, her black hair bouncing up and down, and I cheerfully said, "Hi!" She replied with another, "Hi!" and walked into the classroom. Then after David walked in with a few people (some whom I "helped" get in the room), Jamie came into the room, and I greeted her, "Hi, Jamie!". To which she replied, "Hi, Nawal." We all went into the classroom, then journeyed to the Computer Lab, then we went outside. As we were observing the prairie life (or as close as we could get to observing prairie life), we saw a few crickets and started catching them. Usually crickets would jump right off your arm, but the one I caught stayed on my arm for some reason. I soon found out why. It excreted waste on my wrist, but I carelessly flicked the piece of poop of my arm; and as soon as I did that the cricket leapt of my body. I was to hasty to crickets anytime soon. Everyone who was watching chuckled at the anecdote.
Mrs. Garcia then opened a gate, and told us to go inside it, so we could observe the plant life there. She also told to shuffle our feet so the snakes would hear our the vibrations of our feet and leave us alone. Jamie and I walked together and saw some really impressive spider webs.
"Isn't that what Trapdoor Spiders do?" She asked.
"Oh, yeah! You're right." I said. I really wish I had my camera, since I am a photographer. Now, Mrs. Garcia brought us to a bunch of plants with honey suckles hanging from them like white ornaments. After Mrs. Garcia had showed us how to get the honey out of the flower; Jamie, Paloma, and I, with the rest of the class took a honey suckle and drank some of its nectar. Jamie and I took another one, but her nectar dripped away, so I immediately gave her my honey suckle.
"Thanks." She told me.
"No problem."
Suddenly, we heard the pledge was being recited in school. The class hurried back inside right in the nick o' time, when the bell rang. I gathered all my junk and moved on to Mrs. Rockey's class, which was in the portables.
I did not notice anything new, until I sat down in my seat. I realized that Ms. Warner was there, instead of Ms. Rockey. I jumped up, stood up on my desk, and yelled out, "WHO ARE YOU!!!"
I am just kidding, although it would have been funny if I had done that. What I really said was, "Hi, Ms. Substitute", since I could not remember her name. She glared at me, and I remembered who she was! It must have been the intensity of her small, beady eyes that made me remember. The rest of the class we had fun, but I don't feel like going into the whole story.
The I went to Mrs. Graham's class, but I saw Mrs. Chapman there. This reminded me of my story: "Substitute". I shivered involuntarily.
We worked on our Photo Story for class. I goofed off for a while and made a photo of me being covered in graffiti and stuff. It was really hilarious. Afterwards, I said into my speaker for my Photo Story, "In the year of 2000, George W. Bush was elected president. People still ask, 'Why?'. Whoever was listened laughed out, even Mrs. Chapman.
Then I went to my Int. II Band class and we all struggled with piece titled, "Spy Chase". It is an incredibly cool piece, but it is also incredibly hard.
When I was going to my Algebra class, I put plastic, white knives on either side of my head, and got a few laughs for that. When Mrs. Wolfe spotted the knives, her lips twitched almost forming a smile, but she told me to take them down. An order I followed like any other: relentlessly. I did everything I needed to, in class, ate lunch, ran around in P.E., and then went to Science. Another class taught by Mrs. Garcia. One of my friends, Raymond was playing around with plastic knives. Mrs. Garcia confiscated them. I just gave her both of mine. Raymond got a detention towards the end of class, and I went out free. I am now writing this, and my Werewolf story. I am planning to write a romantic story after that.
"And that's all I have to say about that", Forrest Gump from the movie: "Forrest Gump".
